Real Meaning

What separates the real from illusion

I often struggle with what is true
and what is personal illusion,
confusion over meaning,
working through anxiety,
finding my own solution.

But is there ever such a thing;
can we make our own existence?
What is hidden from our view
that only new perspective can reveal,
who really knows what is real?

Positivism or negativism
which is worse, if neither stands
the tests of time and truth?
Is it better to ignore or implore
that monster standing at my door?

So, I still choose to make my meaning
among so much that’s meaningless
to live authentically within my dream
and if I find it less,
soon enough I will awake.

If you can see a better way,
I’ll gladly enter your debate,
But it seems to me the far greater danger
is to not mean anything at all,
so I must continue to heed the call
… and create.
