How to be more productive?

Could there be a way out? well, fortunately, YES — Let’s dig in.

The burning question that never lets us sleep peacefully and keep us alert the day as well is that how we can be more productive to get more things done in the same amount of time. Right? Well while going through Amal’s course I found the answer captivating enough to be life-changing, that was — the magic of 1,440.

The clock is ticking — ALWAYS

Now, the first thought that crosses anyone’s mind right away is, what is so special in a common set of digits i.e 1,440. Let me have the honor to move you out of your sabotage dome. It is the number of minutes in a day and what is magical about it is, that we humans, all have the same amount of mins in a day yet we utilize them so differently to get things done. All the people in history that changed the world, all the people that are currently paying their part in bringing a change and influencing others and those who would come in future, all encountered and would be encountering the same number of mins it is up to us that how do we use them.

They say “Eat that frog with a Pomodoro” but it's daunting and confusing at the very same time, and I don’t want to scare you, people, before even trying, so let’s ease this phrase out. It simply says, gets things (frog) done with a timer (Pomodoro)!

Can anyone guess what is the biggest hurdle to the race of success?

Just because we think we would win no matter when we start, we never start. It took 3 days to realize that yes I should now complete my assigned work as we are not habitual to working early.

So I challenged myself by practicing this technique while working on a project. I had to design a machine but whenever I used to start, all of a sudden an urge to check social media nudges my mind that go and check if something new and exciting has been posted. So to kill that procrastination demon, I called the Pomodoro technique to kick in and save me out.

I set a timer of 25 mins and started working on it, first, it was very hard for me to focus as the moment we start working organized, our minds don’t accept and play evil games to distract us. But I managed to work on it until I hear the beep of excitement. It was the first 25 mins cycle I rewarded myself by checking on social media and having a glass of water then started working on it again soon the next bell stroked and I was overjoyed to realize that how easily I was able to complete more than 50% of my work. The design was done and now I had to run some tests on it. This time for a treat I had a bowl of noodles to get things in flow, soon even before hearing my third bell I was able to complete everything.

I was a fan of this technique already by the first bell that this is the answer to every challenge. I would be using this technique in the future as well.
