My Background - I feel before I start going into the details of the certifications, it will be worthwhile to give a brief intro of my background to help put things in perspective.
I started my career as a software developer focusing majorly on developing web (backend) and desktop applications using Java Programming Language. I did this for about 2 years and then moved on to focus majorly on software design and architecture roles for about 5 years.
I stumbled into AWS for the first time in 2013 when I was struggling to run the computer model I developed while working on my Master Thesis. I required a lot of compute capacity and a friend recommended I try AWS. I deployed the model on EC2 instances but had to stop the servers once the bill became unmanageable. I will attribute this to being a novice and did not utilise the services as much as I could have.
Note: I was not actively using AWS in my day job when I started this studying for the exams 2017. I was later involved in a couple of AWS projects around the second quarter of 2018 but was not focused full time on it.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate | Score 79% | December 2017:
AWS Certified Developer - Associate | Score 98% | February 2018
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate | Score 84% | March 2018
In my opinion, this is by far the most difficult of the three associate exams. Here is how I prepared for it:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional | Score 77% | June 2018
My advice is not to underestimate how difficult this exam is - you will need to be very well prepared by reading alot of materials and also hands on building and deploying application on AWS to stand a chance. Below is a summary of the materials/online courses I used:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional | Score 75% | July 2018
Follow exactly the same method as I did for the SA Pro Exam which is aCloudGuru Course, LinuxAcademy Course, DevOps Whitepapers and AWS re:Invent videos
