Everything You Need To Know About Lagos IRL
The collaborative podcast about a city no one really understands.
Even if you only pass through it briefly, Lagos will leave a mark on you. It’s that kind of city, and everyone who breathes its air usually has a story to tell (if they haven’t already choked).
Lagos IRL is a collaborative podcast that crowdsources those stories: the ones that are whispered at dinner parties, shared on WhatsApp groups but never make it into Vogue.
It’s about the shit that goes down behind the glamour and the ‘aspirational lifestyle’; the blood, sweat and tears that flow during the pursuit of Best Life®. It’s about religion, sex, money, ambition and everything else there is to talk about.
Every other week, I’ll post a theme and a short voice message based on it. That’s the beginning of an episode.
I hope other people will take it from there and add their own stories if they have something to say.
The process is simple:
1. Click the link to the podcast.
2. Listen (or pretend to listen) to my voice note. I promise the length will never be unbearable.
3. Look for the ‘send voice message' button, tap it and record your story. I’ll add it to the appropriate episode.
Don’t worry about the quality of your recording. As long as you’re audible, it’s fine.
This isn’t Vogue after all, and telling is more important than finesse.
