Hello World

I am writing this brief article because in the past few days I gained two new followers on top of the people added from my Facebook friends who also read Medium.

My first thought was — why would anyone follow me on Medium if I do not have any articles? I’m shy about asking strangers why they choose to follow an empty feed, so I did some digging into my Medium account. Regular users of Medium will not be surprised to know that articles that one claps for becomes part of your user feed broadcast to Medium. So my working theory is that someone saw an article that maybe said “last clapped by Daniel Cornwall”, looked at other things they liked and decided they should subscribe to my clap-led curation.

After I figured that out, I came up with a 160 character profile and decided to write this article. I hope to write more later, but don’t want to make promises I won’t keep.
