December 2018

This month has been quite a month. I must start by saying that during this entire time God has been faithful and these trials have proven to be a furnace refining my family and I.

Cars! Cars! Cars! If there is one thing in life that will eventually happen, a car breaking down on you is that thing. My wife and I have two vehicles, so thank God for his provision in that, but one of them died a week or so ago. The engine is completely shot. We have a brother who attends church with us that owns a repair shop and is going to put in a refurb engine. Let’s skip mentioning the price altogether, but God provided through his grace, provision and the generosity of the body of Christ.

Our youngest was coughing nonstop for a few days so my wife decided to take her to the doctor. We found out that she has an ear infection in BOTH ears. Our middle daughter was doing the same, so again, my wife took her as well. We found out that she has a viral infection. Last, but definitely not least, our oldest daughter, the hooper, has two toenails that have popped off and two blisters on the bottom of both feet about the size of silver dollars.

Again, God has been gracious to us through all of this and we are grateful!

“How does this tie into basketball training?,” you ask. Training has been little to nonexistent this month. So much so, I decided to not do any sessions until after the New Year. But the word is beginning to spread about what I do. So much so, one of the kids I have been training for a while brought a friend with him last week to get some work in. I also got to do some much needed skill work with my daughter.

I am still in the same place as it pertains to a consistent facility for the long haul. I am looking forward to registering with the state in January to become an official LLC. Lastly, I am still praying and processing how to make this full-time. I’m working two jobs, coaching, raising three daughters and doing my best to be a godly husband. I know that getting to that point will take some time, but I’m willing to wait and do what I can in the meantime.

Thanks for taking the time to read!
