From Contemplation to Experimentation

Saying goodbye to British Shooting…

On the 31 July 2018 I formally handed in my notice at the wonderful British Shooting, with less than 30 days to go before my formal goodbye I’m projecting my future…

After 16 months in post as People Development Manager on 1 November 2018 I turn my attention to two things – in this priority order:

It’s been a wonderful time, full of learning, adventure, challenge and gifts of insight that I could have only gained from being in this space of ‘performance sport’ and with it ‘performance learning’ – Thanks you….

I think the pictures below illustrates my desired spaces for exploration more than words – just a snap shot of what awaits…

Some highlights – Learning how to do fishtail plats, dancing to umpa lumpa tunes from ‘Charley and the chocolate factory’ with my 5 year old (that happened tonight), skipping on the school run, exploring our town (sunny Doncaster) and its surrounding landscape…

In-between all that I will working on my ‘Flux Capacitor’ (see image below). In this analogy the Delorean is learning and the ‘Flux Capacitor’ is how we supercharged it…

Now unlike Dr Emmett Brown I didn’t suddenly come up with this after a slip in the bathroom whilst hanging a clock, however I did wake a couple of years back with this image which I keep redrawing the more I learn about learning. Now I just need to work out a) how to get these pieces moving at the equivalent 88 miles per hour and b) where I may find the 1.21 gigawatts to run this thing...
